50 Years of Chevrolet
Chevrolet had already established themselves as one of America’s leading manufacturers by 1970, and the Impala series was among the top-selling lines of the decade. The stunning Chevelle SS 454 debuted in 1970, and is still regarded as a champion among muscle cars. In 1975, Chevy cemented their image as an all-American brand with their famous ad jingle, “As American As Baseball, Hot Dogs, And Apple Pie.” That American-made appeal was bolstered in 1988 when Chevy debuted an all-new line of full-sized pickup trucks, and in the 1990s, the Silverado was featured in Chevrolet’s memorable “Like A Rock” ad campaign. The 2000s saw incredible innovation within Chevrolet’s lineup, with the introduction of extended range electric cars like the Volt.
